App lacks accurate schedules

The times listed for the train schedule are often incorrect and not up to date forcing me to have to use a paper schedule from the MTA.

Now With Track info

Track information was all that was missing, this is now the only app you need to commute efficiently in NYC.

Im always on time

This handy app knows where you are and knows if youre going to work or coming home. Fantastic.

Great for everyday commuter

I use this almost everyday. It now gives me tracks and delays. I usually know about delays before they are announced. I have been a paid user of this app for years and it finally it worth writing a positive review! I believe the only major thing missing is being able to so routes with transfers. Also I wish I could see all the train stops even before I my stop or after where I get off. It helps figure out how crowded the train will be.

Its great.

I use it regularly - Im very satisfied.

Great app with a few quirks

This is a very helpful app whose utility has recently been increased by the addition of track numbers. I rely on it daily, but have a few things I wish were different. The app sometime does not retrieve track info, which may be an issue with the MNR feed. The app needs to more consistently default to the current time of day, or give you an option as to what time of day you want to see trains for - I dont do a lot of commuting at 1:00AM, but I see that schedule a lot as the app opens to the full day schedule when you do a search. The app remembers your regular station, but when you commute from or look for times for another station, that change does not persist - every time you open the app, it defaults back to your "home" station. I think the last station entered should persist until you change back to your home station.

Train App

Great app and really like that it now has track numbers but sometimes does not update to current time automatically. So this slows the usage of the app as you have to refresh the time after opening it. Also it does not automatically know morning from afternoon as to whether you want to GCT or from GCT. but overall great

Love this app

It gives current schedule info for the Metro North. It alerts you when schedules change. I love that they added the track numbers!

Invaluable

Use it nearly daily. Only improvement (and probably not possible, depending on how information is distributed from Grand Central) would be which platform at GCT a train leaves from. But otherwise, a huge help to me! UPDATE: ...and now it has track information! Awesome! (Upgrading from 4 to 5 stars.) Plus, by being able to check other station combos just as easily, if I miss my local train home, I can often take an express from GCT past my stop, and catch the next southbound local for one stop. (I keep 10-trip tix on hand for just such emergencies.) Unless the NB express dawdles, this app lets me know Ive got 2-3 minutes to cross over to get back to my stop.

Review

It helps tremendously to have the track # when youre running late!!

Does its job

An app that does what it says it will, and does it well. I love that.

Useful App!

This app works as advertised. Very handy when planning the commute. Highly recommended..

Metro-North schedule Always Precise

Great App in providing up to the minute information as to Metro-North Hudson line departures and arrivals between Poughkeepsie and Grand Central Station. Couldnt manage without it.

NY

This is a good app Its cool Tells u the Platform number

On time ap

Very reliable which is what you want as a MTA commuter. Thank you.

Works great

I travel by train to NYC once or twice a month and this app is great for checking schedules and availability.

Useful but hardly great

This is basically just an electronic version of the paper timetable with little additional functionality. There is a window to show line service status but it is very slow to come up and the app does not present status changes to you when you open the app. It will push notifications to you for those lines you choose but I do travel other lines - and many status changes appear long after they have occurred - admittedly the fault of MetroNorth, not the app. Two things the app clearly is missing: 1) real time arrival times - all that is provided is the scheduled times - the dispatchers know where these trains are and they could no doubt be communicated to the app along with track changes (anything that would be announced in the station should be in the app) - I commute every day, often cutting it close and knowing about even a few minutes delay would be helpful. 2) street maps showing the location of each station - even Google maps cant find many of these without already knowing the exact street address which is tricky to find even on the MetroNorth website.

Great

This is a great, easy to use program that tells you exactly what you want to know--whens the next train, what track, and when it arrives. I think its better than the official app.

Good for me

Regional traveler, I travel all of Tristate. When I need to go into Manhattan this is a great tool as I use different lines, Stations, and times to go where no car should go.

Great App!!!!!

This App has never failed me. I love it. I highly recommend this App to everyone.
